Crean
Non-Executive Director and Co-Founder
Professor Gabriel Crean, PhD was CEO of
NMRC (now part of the Tyndall National Institute) from 1997-2004
where he nurtured and encouraged the spin-off of several leading
photonics companies in Ireland. Professor Crean has an international
research reputation and is a past president of the European
Materials Research Society. He has been elected a fellow of
the Institute of Engineers of Ireland and of the Institute
of Physics, and has been chairman of several international
conferences.
Professor Crean received Honours degrees
in Electrical Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology
and Trinity College Dublin and obtained a Masters degree in
Opto-electronics from the Institute National Polytechnique
de Grenoble, France. He was subsequently awarded a Ph.D. at
the Center National des Telecommunications (CNET) microelectronics
research center in Grenoble, France for work on microelectronic
materials science and metrology. |
